The recent introduction of laser hair removal has revolutionized the treatment of unwanted hair. Lasers offer a non-invasive, safe method of permanently removing hair from specified regions on the body and have been used for other cosmetic applications (removing broken blood vessels, sun spots, wrinkles, etc.) for almost twenty years.

The procedure is done in the office with no anesthesia. You are able to resume normal activities immediately after the laser treatment.

Pigmented hair absorbs the laser light, which travels down the follicle and destroys the follicle's "root." Because no other part of the skin absorbs it, it leaves no scar. Treatment generally continues for 5-7 visits over six to eight months, for the maximum reduction of hair and best results. Patients can expect 60 to 75% permanent reduction in hair after 5-7 treatments.

All patients have a consultation with Dr. Avram to discuss the risks and benefits of the procedure and how good a candidate they are.
