Leg (spider) veins are benign but very upsetting, dilated blood vessels affecting millions of women. Lasers offer a non-invasive outpatient treatment option. Patients are able to resume their regular activities immediately after their laser treatment. Our office offers three state of the art lasers that can effectively eliminate unwanted spider veins. The laser delivers an intense short burst of light that selectively heats and destroys spider veins. Typically 3-5 treatments or needed to see a clear cosmetic improvement. They do not work on larger or deeper vessels since the laser light cannot heat and penetrate deep enough to destroy them. Patients with larger green vessels and varicose veins benefit from sclerotherapy and other invasive techniques. For patients with a combination of small and larger vessels a combination of lasers and invasive techniques are utilized for optimum cosmetic results.
