Wrinkles on our face are created by a combination of genetics, sun damage and long-term use of the muscles in our face. Botox is used most commonly to reduce unwanted wrinkles on the forehead and around the eyes. It temporarily paralyzes local muscles in the forehead and around the eyes leading to the reduction or elimination of wrinkles. Botox usually lasts for 3-6 months. Successful Botox treatment should produce a natural appearing reduction of wrinkles without a “frozen” appearance.
The vast majority of patients see a moderate to dramatic improvement in 3-7 days after the procedure.
