Folix: A New Approach to Hair Stimulation

The FoLix platform utilizes a 1565-nm non-ablative fractional laser to create controlled microthermal zones within the scalp. These microscopic zones stimulate a wound-healing response that may activate follicular stem cells, increase growth-factor signaling, and improve the follicular microenvironment. Fractional laser–induced scalp remodeling has been proposed as a mechanism to stimulate hair follicles and improve hair density.

Clinical studies evaluating FoLix technology and other fractional non-ablative lasers have demonstrated improvements in hair density and hair thickness following treatment. In prospective clinical observations, patients with androgenetic alopecia treated with fractional non-ablative lasers showed measurable increases in hair counts and improved hair caliber. These findings support the concept that controlled microthermal injury produced by FoLix may stimulate follicular activity and promote hair growth.

Treatments with FoLix typically last about 10–20 minutes. The procedure is non-invasive and generally associated with minimal discomfort and little to no downtime. As device-based regenerative therapies continue to evolve, FoLix represents a promising technology for hair stimulation in patients with thinning hair.
