Hair kept our ancestors brain cool - and gave them an evolutionary advantage

Interesting new paper on why we have hair on our scalp. The authors believe it was  part of evolution for thermal regulation of our bodies and brain so as not to overheat in strong sun!

Over the past hundreds of years hair is one of the few physical characteristics WE can control - i.e. length of hair, color of hair.  How we wear our hair can reflect in part our personality or how the world perceives us.  Losing hair changes that ability and changes how the world physically sees us.
