PRP for scarring alopecia

Over the last several years there have bee multiple clinical trials that have answered the question regarding the efficacy of PRP as a treatmet for male and female pattern hair loss.  The majority of studies show positive effect of PRP on patients who suffer from male and female pattern hair loss.

A large number of patients also suffer from scarring alopecias - hair loss from chroic inflammation in their scalp.  There are case reports that show potential benefits from PRP to date but not nearly enough clinical studies.

I our office in the fall of 2019 we will begin a clinical trial on patients with scarring alopecia to analyze the potential benefits of PRP.  The trial will better define the role of PRP for scarring hair loss conditions.
